Mr Marlon Perera is a urological surgeon accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He completed his primary medical degree through The University of Melbourne and urological training in Queensland. Marlon has an interest in uro-oncology and minimally invasive surgery and is due to compete further Fellowship training in Robotic Surgery and Uro-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, USA – sponsored by a scholarship through the Fulbright association.
During his surgical training, Marlon actively participated in clinical research and is in the final stages of completion of a PhD (Urology) through the University of Melbourne. Marlon has published extensively with over 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and frequently presenting at international congresses. Of these publications are several first-author papers in European Urology, Nature Urology and JAMA Oncology. Among these publications, several have been featured heavily in the major authoritative guidelines, including the European Urologic Association (EUA) and the American Urologic Association (AUA) guidelines for the treatment of prostate cancer. Similarly, alternate publications have been used as a primary data source by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommendations for the management of Benign Prostatic hyperplasia.
